Hihi! How’s it going, guys? Did you have a good week? There’s been a lot going on this past week for me. To start off with, a very special piece of news…
That’s right! I was chosen (after applying for the hell of it) to be a speaker at the Boston Festival of Indie Games this month! You’ll find me under my real name (gasp!?) on the Learns track of the event. My talk is all about storytelling and word choice in games, given with my unique perspective as a long time storyteller, as well as from the perspective of someone working in indie games. Because I’m working on my presentation sort of out of the blue, my free writing time has been cut down a bit. That said, I’m still doing my best to get a bit of everything done… Which probably isn’t smart, but I’m doing it anyway.
I’ve been keeping on track pretty well with game development recently, though I haven’t had RPGmaker open for any of it. I decided to keep track of more than my inventory in database format. I just finished (or, I’ve finally decided it’s finished) my skill list yesterday. With just over eighty skills and spells, I think there’s enough variety… Which I say as I think of another possible spell. Okay, maybe I’m not done with the list yet. But, I’m getting there!
I did try streaming Sandrock this week when the NDA was over. I say try because… It turned out really, really laggy. Because of this, the stream I planned to do yesterday didn’t happen. But I have a plan B for sharing Sandrock with everyone! I just have to work on it. I’ll let you know the details on that later. I’m still in the planning and debating process with it.
I was going to say ‘that’s all for now’, but then I realized I forgot to mention. If you like avatar community sites (I mean the kind where you dress up, not based on the movies)… It’s Lasria’s second year anniversary, so we’re having a big event the next couple of weeks. Great time to join in on the fun and give it a go if you’re interested!
Okay now I can say that’s all for now. Until next week! I’m off to try to nurse this tension migraine I’ve had for the past few days. Take care, everyone!
